awarded a special prize by the rheinish state museum trier (rheinisches landesmuseum trier), eifelverein and trier university of applied sciences for the high quality of the construction.
to protect the historic roman monument the proposal developed a zinc canopy with a central glazed element for daylight. the timber construction was set on a regular grid (2.7 x 2.7 m) fixed on concrete columns. steel cables formed part of the cross-bracing.
